Allen Wins Rolex 24 at Daytona LMP2 Crown
30/01/2025

Current Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 Championship leader James Allen has taken his second Rolex 24 at Daytona class title when the no22 United Autosports USA Oreca he was driving with Daniel Goldburgh, Paul Di Resta and Rasmus Lindh was promoted to the top spot after the race winning Tower Motorsports Oreca failed the post race technical inspection.

The no8 Tower Motorsports Oreca was found to have excessive wear on the skid block, which is a breach of the regulations and was excluded from the final result of the race.  This promoted the second placed no22 United Autosports USA Oreca to first in class.

For James Allen this marks his second Daytona race win (2023 & 2025) in addition to two Le Mans 24 Hour victories (2022 & 2023).

“It’s never the way you want to win … but it feels great to win the Rolex 24 at Daytona again!” says Allen. “I can’t thank my teammates enough - Daniel, Paul and Rasmus - as well as the whole team at United Autosports USA for both the opportunity and the hard work and dedication they put into this program. I’m so happy to have shared this victory with them and wish them success for the rest of the championship!”

The Australian driver will be back in action at the 4 Hours of Dubai next week, racing alongside Tristan Vautier and Fred Poordad in the no30 RD Limited Oreca-Gibson.  The trio scored a win on the team's LMP2 debut in Sepang and then followed this up with a second place in race 2 to leave Malaysia at the top of the championship standings on 43 points.
